The legalization of pot has led and will lead to many injuries and fatalities in car crashes because of stoned drivers. Brushing aside the absurd argument by the proponents of pot that driving under the influence of marijuana is safer than driving under the influence of alcohol, here is just one example of what else can and will go wrong.

BEAUMONT - The baby sitter of a 5-year-old Vidor boy who shot and killed himself with her gun told authorities she'd been high on marijuana that day, according to court documents.
According to the probable cause affidavit filed in her arrest, Melissa Ringhardt had been "intoxicated throughout the day due to the consumption of marijuana" when she allegedly left a .40-caliber handgun on a coffee table, then went take a nap in another room.
The affidavit states Ringhardt said she was carrying the gun "as a form of protection" on Monday when she was watching 5-year-old John Read and another 6-month-old child at the Vidor home.
Ringhardt was charged with abandoning or endangering a child, a state-jail felony, and was in the Orange County Jail on $250,000 bail.
